Saturday 28th November was the day the Cape Town art-lovers gathered to celebrate the beautiful Mother City arts at the Mother City Live. The Great Wizoo in Rosebank was the point of gathering where photographers like Sibu Mpanza and Melissa Brown showcased their work, while the stage was filled with a number of performances.

The proceedings where in the very capable hosting hands of a female Khanya and a male Khanya. The female Khanya is a Radio host and so is the male host ‘Kyeezi’ who also doubles up as a TV Presenter These two had such chemistry onstage which carried through to the crowd that was very interactive.

Lovely guitarist and singer Noa Milan kicked off the stage performances with some good jams which set the mood for the rest of the day and night. Bringing in their own flavor, the Blackroots Marimbas had everyone moving along to their sounds.

One of the most memorable moments of the day was when Cape Town Rap artist announced that his parents attended to watch him perform for the first time ever. Blaq Slim felt the family friendly setup of the event made it possible for him to invite his parents to watch him and his fellow Cape Town artists. His mother seemed very pleased by his son’s performance as she was smiling and applauding him as they crowd sang along to his songs.
