MISS DIVA BDAY PARTY by Brat

The date was the 27th of May, the venue Cappello cpt and Yep you heard it everywhere friends it was Sisanda ‘Diva’ Ximbi party.

This is one party everyone who is in the known even those who are not was looking forward to.
CTVibes rocked up at 10pm, and that is not our time to arrive at the party but that is when the party start for us. When we got to Cappello the place was packed inside, everyone came out to play. Ladies in their heels,  dresses and some not dressed at all for the party, they looked as if they are going to one of the spazas in Khayelitsha.

As we arrived we headed straight for the VIP, Le Roux champagne was served for everyone to drink , platters of food to eat and that was Dudoo’s favourite spot to dance around  #ncncnc.
So many people tried their luck to get in at the VIP but the bouncer at the door knew his job very well, his securitation was tighter than the polsmoor security force. Even if you knew someone who is in the VIP if you not in the guest list, you don’t get in. #Kwaaaa

This was different from any party Ms. Diva is known to host over the years cause now she was giving away shoes from Birinbau Italian Footwear to the best dress lady. I think she could teach Bonang a thing or two about what kind of shoes should be given away not what she gave away to the poor girls at St Yves the day before anyway andikho apho, one lucky lady did walk away home drunk and with a pair of shoes on her hand.

A party in Cape Town is not a party without drama, well we had our little drama from so called celebrities of cpt. Did you think I would forget that part??? Well I guess he was brushing up on his acting skills for his next play or series. Hayi shame bow down for the Mr. Drama, that was not necessary #SMH

The Dancer

The rest was music, dance, and drinking till the doors were close. Now I bet everyone can’t wait to see what Ms. Diva has in store for next year party.

Moments with Kooch by Brat

He is young and talented, belongs to one of the Cape Town’s upcoming Hip-Hop groups Young Black and Gifted. Some know him, some don’t but when he drops his beats you can’t help  but to stop and listen.

I’m not much of a Hip-Hop fan but after listening to some few of the lyrics in the song. ‘sex on my mind’ in YBG new album, titled stardom to fame, I got hooked.

Here is a brief about Kooch:

WHO IS KOOCH?

I’m a 22years old rapper and part of a group called YBG (young black and gifted), Free State born and raised but not a motswako rapper lol and now I rep cape town to the fullest.

YOUR REAL NAME?

Lol…My real name is Rethabile Fenyane.

HOW DID IT ALL START, BEING A RAPPER?

In high school my brother had this vision of doing crunk(new school hip-hop) in vernacular, late 2008, he formed this group which back then only consisted of 2 members, in 2009, that is when I joined because hip-hop was the “In thing”, since then I haven’t looked back.

TELL ME ABOUT YBG…

YBG came about in 2008 but started form in 2009 and this was a good year for us, we won a youth pioneer award, was featured in the TV plus magazine etc. YBG consists of four members in which all of us are uniquely diverse.  We are still pushing our first album titled STARDOM TO FAME, which went international and the rating were actually good for a first project.

YBG, WHAT ROLE DO YOU PLAY?

I’m a rapper, promoter and a manager of this group…

WHAT DO YOU DO BESIDES RAPPING?

I actually have a 9-5 hey, I’m trying to gain experience in the business world and meet different people.

WHICH ONE DO YOU ENJOY  AND WHY?

I enjoy music and performing, this takes my personality to the next level, all that fun, meeting new people, doing what I love in front of a lot of people…I enjoy making people dance and jump around, so music definitely.

WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL?

My mom is my role model, she is so strong and she knows what she wants out of life, she is a real hustler.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM YOU IN 2011?

From YBG, watch out for summertime video and some tracks on the album, and we are currently working on collaborating with artists from Johannesburg and I’m working on my branded t-shirts…STOOPID AND FLY NINJA…

WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON CAPE TOWN ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY?

The vibe here is very chilled but it has a potential to be diverse and big.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN SPARE TIME?

I don’t usually have a lot of time in my hands but when I do, I go out, meet new people, I love meeting people or sometimes I just chill with my brother.

YOUR FAVOURITE CT HANGING SPOT?

I go to town a lot; you would either find me at McDonalds or on Long Street…anywhere on Long Street.

WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING?

My legs…joking…there is so much in life, so much to explore, I love life and the passion I have for life keeps me going, taking every day as it comes…stundee.
